Data

Bizstats has a network of Business Brokers around NZ who regularly provide data on businesses they’ve sold.

Our database is updated on a monthly basis as this gives us time to assess, categorise and collate the data before it is available to our customers and members.

Yes, take a look at our blog post on Bizstats Terminology detailing what each data field in a Bizstats report represents

As Bizstats collects data from its broker network on an unverified basis, we can not give guarantees or warranties of any kind.

The ANZSIC system, or the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification, is a framework that categorizes businesses and other economic activities into specific groups based on their primary business operations. This standardized classification allows for consistent and clear analysis, comparison, and sharing of economic data across Australia and New Zealand. It is widely used by government agencies, industry organizations, and researchers to compile and analyse data on various aspects of the economy, such as employment, production, and revenue. At Bizstats, we utilize the ANZSIC system to ensure that our data aligns with these standardized categories, making it easier for our users to search, compare, and utilize the information for their specific needs. For more information visit the Business Industry Classification Code website.

To protect the privacy of the transacting parties, Brokers provide data to Bizstats on an anonymous basis. All effort is made to remove any identifying information from the business description.

Brokers

In return for contributing their sales data, broker members receive access to the entire Bizstats database through an online dashboard. This enables Members to search, analyse and export comparable data, a hugely valuable tool when undertaking appraisals.

If you are already a Member, login at www.bizstats.report and you will be taken directly to the Broker Dashboard.

Yes. We do not provide unlimited access to the database for data security reasons. Brokers are limited to viewing a maximum of 50 records at any one time. However, given the ability to drill down across multiple parameters this won’t be an issue for accessing comparable data.

The data you submit as a broker member is reviewed for accuracy, categorised into the ANZSIC system and uploaded to the database on a monthly basis. At this point it is available for both Brokers and Customers to access.

No. Both the contributor and purchasers of data are never disclosed.

Yes. This generally depends on the size of your organisation and allowances are made given the economic cycle which can impact sales frequency considerably. Monthly updates are sent out to the Member contact so that agencies can keep track of their submissions and ensure they are up to date.

Submissions can be made through our online form. A link to the form is available on the Broker Dashboard.

There is no limit to the number of brokers from any one agency who can access the Broker Dashboard.

At present, there is no cost associated with being a Broker Member.
